Hello,

I would like to start my first cycle. I’m trying to take the most scientific approach possible before doing anything and to master as many parameters as possible, but nothing replaces the experience of those who have already done it, so I’m asking for all kinds of advice.

To introduce myself, my name is Paul, I'm 32 years old, and I sprint 100m and 200m. I eat healthily and train 3 times a week for sprinting + 2 times for weight training.
Right now, I'm hitting a plateau in my performance and I'd like to break my records.
The idea is to gain muscle mass while limiting weight gain to increase the power-to-weight ratio.

I have planned a full blood test in the next few weeks before starting anything, and I’ll do another one about 4 weeks after the cycle begins.

From what I’ve seen on the site and based on my research, the testosterone + Methenolone Enanthate or Nandrolone Decanoate combo would be suitable for this kind of muscle gain.

I’m thinking of starting by taking just testosterone for a few weeks, then adding Methenolone Enanthate or Nandrolone Decanoate to get 200 mg/week of testosterone + 200 mg/week of primobolan for a first 20-week cycle. What do you think? Which combo is better ?

Regarding aromatase inhibitors, I plan to buy exemestane and adjust the dosage based on the blood test after 4 weeks.

Regarding potential side effects on the liver and hematocrit in particular, should I take any other products as a precaution? Or adjust if symptoms appear or if tests require it?

Are there other things I should consider before starting?
I'm open to any advice, thanks in advance !

Hey Paul!

I like the way you’re approaching this. You’re thinking like an athlete first, not simply looking for more drugs, and for a sprinter that distinction matters. Your objective is more power per kilo, not just more kilos.

For a first experience, I’d keep things much simpler than the plan you describe. Before choosing between Primo and Deca, establish your baseline properly and understand how you respond to testosterone alone. Adding compounds because you might need them makes it harder to know what is actually helping or hurting performance.

I also wouldn’t automatically introduce exemestane because estradiol rises. Treat the athlete and the bloodwork together, not one laboratory number. Crashing E2 can be particularly counterproductive when you need healthy joints, recovery and explosive performance.

Your pre-cycle bloodwork is therefore the most important part of the post. I’d want CBC/hematocrit, full lipids including ApoB if possible, liver and kidney markers, fasting glucose/HbA1c, total/free testosterone, SHBG, LH/FSH, sensitive E2, prolactin and blood pressure. Then repeat during the process as you already intend.

Also give us your current weight, approximate BF%, 100/200 m times, main strength numbers, calories/macros and what exactly has plateaued. That will tell us whether pharmacology is even addressing the limiting factor.

You’ve clearly done some homework. Now make the next step equally intelligent: baseline first, minimum complexity, measure everything, change one variable at a time.

Hey bro, great intro and good to see you’re approaching your first cycle seriously.
For a first cycle I’d keep things as simple as possible rather than adding multiple compounds straight away. Testosterone alone makes you understand how the body respond and how it affects performance, muscle mass, pumps, blood pressure...
I’d also avoid using an AI preventively let symptoms and labs guide that decision, it's not just because i want to prevent it, we need estrogen to function properly in an adequate amount.
Since your goal is power-to-weight, track sprint times and performance alongside bodyweight. Keep us updated 🔥🦍

Thanks for your feedback.

I admit that testosterone alone scares me a bit when it comes to excessive mass gain, which could slow down my explosiveness.
What do you recommend to stay lean, "light," and explosive while taking testosterone? A caloric deficit? A lower dosage? Something else?

Right now I weigh 73 kg at 1.80 m, I must be around 13% body fat. In terms of performance, I almost only work on legs and only started not too long ago. My one-rep max is 180 kg on the hip thrust and 140 kg on the squat.

On the nutrition side, I’m at 2400 kcal with 140g of protein and 70g of fat, the rest in carbs.

For performance, I run 100m in 11.20 seconds and I lack explosiveness at the start. I think I could get under 11 seconds with stronger legs.

Hey Paul!

At 73 kg, 1.80 m and around 13% BF, I honestly wouldn’t be scared of suddenly becoming too heavy from testosterone. Testosterone doesn’t decide whether you gain 3 or 10 kg. Your energy balance does. CONTROL YOUR FORK MOVEMENT!! 😁

And no, I wouldn’t put you into a caloric deficit either. You’re a sprinter trying to improve performance, not preparing for a bodybuilding stage. At your current condition I’d stay around maintenance or a very small surplus, keep bodyweight moving extremely slowly, and let performance dictate the process.

Your numbers actually tell an interesting story: 11.20 in the 100 m with only relatively recent serious leg work is promising. A 140 kg squat at 73 kg is already respectable, but if the weakness is specifically the start, I’d put far more attention into rate of force development, acceleration mechanics, posterior-chain strength and how that strength transfers to the first 20-30 metres than simply trying to make your legs bigger.

Your 140 g protein is perfectly reasonable. I’d rather protect your carbohydrate availability around sprint sessions than start cutting calories trying to remain artificially light.

Think of it this way: the target isn’t minimum bodyweight. It’s maximum useful horsepower per kilogram. If you eventually become 74-75 kg but run 10.9 instead of 11.2, nobody is going to complain about the extra kilo.

Nice and easy… Keep the pharmacology boring and make the performance exciting.
