I started Reta in January with 0.5 mg. Worked it up to 3 mg during the months to finally start losing a little. The side effects were occasionally horrible, but went away during the weeks.

Initially I only had the sides, without desired effexts. After I reached 3 mg, and also added MOTS-C, I started losing. However, now at 3.5 mg, which I reached a week ago, I find it impossible to get even a very minimal amount of protein.

Normally I would get about 150 g per day, which covers my LBM in kg twice generously (with some extra grams to spare). I've been having appetite problems for years, so before Reta I had to rely heavily on protein shakes because often I couldn't get more than one normal sized solid meal a day, plus a small dose of carbs before lifting. I've been trying to get three solid meals instead of shakes, and managed to do so for a while, but it was hard and then I found myself unable to eat that much again. Using plenty of protein shakes, I was able to get around 150 g per day.

Now on this dose of Retatrutide, I have a strong aversion to most proteins, and barely reach half my goal since getting between 3-3.5 mg. Just thinking of my usual protein rich food makes me queasy, and I started hating the taste of the protein shakes I used to like.

So, all in all, Reta is making me eat way less healthily than I used to. I can barely force down some protein, but I can eat other stuff, like desserts, which I normally wouldn't. I never had problems retaining muscle, I was even gaining muscle when I had to take a break from tranining and was inactive for years, because if my body is left to its own devices, I gain a lot of weight, and according to measurements, some of that weight (about 35%) ended up to be muscle, while being fully inactive. But nowadays I started worrying about my muscle mass if I go on like this. I don't like not getting enough protein, it goes against how I've been living for decades.

How the hell are people getting enough protein on Reta? I tried to force down a decent amount of protein last week, and was rewarded with the old horrible gastrointestinal sides. So not only it's making me loath it, it even takes revenge if I still force it and try to get over 100 g. I try to add small amounts of protein shake throughout the day to avoid the sides, but that leaves me with a bad taste the whole day. This past week it started affecting my energy levels as well, but that might have been the weather.

I wish there was a new generation peptide which skips the delayed gastric emptying and appetite killing part, and just does the rest.

Try to separate the doses of RETA into twice a week. Monday 10 units and Thursday 10 units. It’s way better because if you use it once, it’s very heavy and that’s why you don’t eat enough protein during the day.

Thanks! I was actually starting like that, doing it twice a day, thinking it would even the effects out. It was even worse, as there was no relief from the symptoms. Then after a couple months, I switched to weekly, and this way I have at least one day of normalcy when the damn thing reaches its half-life. I worked a lot on being able to take the whole dose once a week, I don't want to go back to twice a week dosing. I trust that my body will eventually get used to this dose, it's not so much after all. I've been eating a record amount of candied ginger to help speed up gastric emptying a little, but it seems every time I eat or drink protein, Reta disagrees. I've already given up more than half my fiber intake. :(
